LONG BEACH, CA —Comedian and actor Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias, who was raised in Long Beach, received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Tuesday.

His star was unveiled around noon at 7060 Hollywood Blvd.

“We celebrate not just a comedian, but a storyteller whose warmth and authenticity have made him beloved around the world,” Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremonies producer Ana Martinez said. “His connection with his fans is extraordinary, and the Hollywood Walk of Fame is proud to honor an entertainer whose laughter truly brings people together.”

Iglesias, the youngest of six children, was raised by a single mother in Long Beach. He said that it was during his childhood that he developed a strong sense of humor to deal with life’s obstacles. He began his stand-up comedy career in 1997.

His comedy relies primarily on his personal experiences and is a mixture of storytelling, parodies, characters, and sound effects.

Over the course of his nearly 30-year career, Iglesias has become one of the most-watched comedians on YouTube with over 2.4 billion views and over 35.9 million fans across social media. He was the fourth-highest-grossing comedian of 2025, according to Billboard magazine.

Iglesias is also the star and executive producer of the original comedy series Mr. Iglesias, which is currently streaming three seasons on Netflix. On the show, he plays a public high school teacher who works at his alma mater, Long Beach’s Wilson High School.

During the ceremony, Iglesias dedicated the star to his late mother, Esther.
