A Pontiac teacher is no longer with the district after being removed after a video surfaced of a classroom confrontation with a student.
It is unknown in which building the incident took place or when, but the 26-second video posted on social media by Metro Daily News shows the brief encounter apparently recorded by a student in the class.
A few seconds into the short video the teacher appears to be getting upset with a student and the student tells her to calm down. Later, there is an inaudible reply from the student and the teacher can then be heard saying:
“Your mom’s gonna come beat the f*** out of me. So we calling people to beat the f*** out of each other? All right. All right, b***.
In a longer clip recorded by another student and posted on social media by Fox 2 News Detroit, the teacher then calls someone, it is unknown if it is a school official, and explains the situation.
“I’m in the classroom with one of these non-students and he is calling his mama up here to beat my a**,” the teacher can be heard saying. “This little pee-on is sitting up in here calling me a little girl.”
The teacher then says, “He is trying to take me back to where I came from, I left there for a reason.”
The teacher then spots other students recording the incident on their phones and tells them to put their phones down and not to post on social media.
The district released a statement on Tuesday acknowledging the incident.
“The Pontiac School District is aware of a video circulating that shows a teacher using inappropriate language toward students. This behavior does not reflect our values or the standards we expect from our staff,” the statement read. “The matter was addressed promptly, and the employee involved no longer works for the district. As this is a personnel matter, we cannot provide additional comment.”
