The Make March Matter campaign, the month-long around-town fundraiser for Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, has flowered for over a decade, all while giving Southern Californians the opportunity to help support the important institution and its mission.

They’ve done so by shopping at a participating store, or dining out at a restaurant during a particular week, or signing up for a cooking class or cultural event that would donate some or all of the proceeds to CHLA and its programs.

And while participants do loyally return year after year, one treat has become a colorful star in the Make March Matter firmament: The sprinkle-covered sweet found on the shelves of a regional gem.

That would be Randy’s Donuts, which has brought back the special limited-time treat, a goodie covered in vanilla icing and “bright, joyful sprinkles” which include the hues that have become instantly recognizable symbols of the campaign.

The Make March Matter doughnut is priced at $4.30 and supplies are limited, to check in with your local Randy’s — there’s the original near the airport and locations across the region, from Pasadena to Costa Mesa — to find out if they’ve got the Make March Matter doughnut in stock.

Once you purchase your treat, know that it will help to support CHLA. In fact, “Every donut counts” is Randy’s memorable and flavorful rallying call to action.

This isn’t the only specialty doughnut Randy’s is baking during March; glittery gold donuts will be back ahead of St. Patrick’s Day, starting March 12.

Do keep in mind there are several ways to make a difference during CHLA’s Make March Matter campaign, with events on the 2026 calendar and ways to play a part.
