On Monday at 7:45 p.m., Lyon County Sheriff’s deputies contacted 61-year-old Richard Ray Richards in the Silver Springs area.
Richards is a registered sex offender in California who had been present in the Silver Springs area for more than 48 hours without registering with any state law enforcement agency, according to a news release.
Richards was booked into the Lyon County jail on one felony count of failure to register as a sex offender.
