A 21-year-old identified as Dustin DeWitt was fatally stabbed at DOCO. A homicide investigation is underway, with another victim expected to survive.

SACRAMENTO, Calif — The 21-year-old who was fatally stabbed near DOCO late Monday night has been identified by his family.

Dustin DeWitt and a woman were stabbed by an unidentified suspect around 9:45 p.m. near the 400 block of K Street, according to the Sacramento Police Department.

Both were taken to the hospital for treatment, where DeWitt was pronounced dead, police said. 

DeWitt’s family told ABC10 he was a kind and caring person whose smile and laughter brought joy to everyone around him.

Officials said the woman stabbed is in stable condition and is expected to survive. 

A homicide investigation is underway.
