BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — “We are here because we need closure.” The family of Jose Arredondo, a prominent Bakersfield businessman, held a press conference, announcing a $100,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the person(s) responsible for Arredondo’s murder.

Jose Arredondo, a U.S. citizen, was found dead in his condominium in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, on July 16, 2019.

According to Associated Press, the Baja California Sur state prosecutors said they were called to a condominium after someone reported a dead body. It said the body “showed signs of blunt force trauma.”

The case remains unsolved. The family said it is an open and ongoing investigation.

“If anybody has information out there that would lead to having justice for Jose, there is a $100,000 reward that we are putting out as a family. $100,00 for anybody that can bring some information, that can bring justice to Jose, to bring closure to our family. Our family has not been able to get closure because we have no idea why Jose was murdered,” said Jose’s nephew, Angel Arredondo.

“We have been waiting and praying that justice is done in finding the persons responsible for my brother’s death,” said Laura Arredondo, sister of the victim. “The case remains stalled.”
