What to KnowMoon Soul Sound BathsMattress Central3319 Glendale Boulevard in Atwater Village$43.45 single; $76.54 for two people sharing a queen mattressUpcoming dates: March 8 and 22, April 4 and 267 to 8 p.m.

Southern California is the hallowed home base of sonic supine adventures, with yoga classes, avant guard art happenings (perhaps you curled up for the musical “SLEEP” evening in DTLA back in the day), and other ease-back events that invite us to let go, lounge a little, and take a load off.

Sound baths are a prominent placid pastime in this tranquil space, and a newer entry on the scene is beckoning peace-seeking participants to a mattress store on Glendale Boulevard.

Alice Moon of Moon Soul Sound Baths is at the ethereal lead of the 50-minute aural experience, and rather than mats or cushions, participants are enjoying actual beds, many beds, in one of the only places where a person can find dozens of beds in one single space: a mattress store.

Mattress Central in Atwater Village is the spot, and some 50 queen beds — “50” seems to be the number to remember — will fill up as Ms. Moon leads a lilting and light-of-spirit sound bath.

Previously, a single sound bath graced the mattress store calendar each month, but after the whimsical word went around, there are now two sounds baths in March and two more in April.

The March 8 sound bath is nearly full, but there is a March 22 session to consider, and there’s a tantalizing twist: A mattress-themed giveaway, and a big one. One guest will receive a Mattress Central gift card worth $500.

If you’re do attend the March 8 sound bath, you’ll depart with a flower in honor of International Women’s Day.

“I absolutely love bringing people together and offering a unique, cool, and relaxing experience to the community!” shared Ms. Moon.

Fret not if your March is already overscheduled, which is just the sort of thing a sound bath might help with: There are two April dates on the Moon Soul Sound Baths calendar, should you be seeking a serene way to float into the heart of springtime.

If you’re seeking further sound-centric gatherings that are lovely, offbeat, and one-of-a-kind, look a bit further east, to Pasadena, where a Sound Bath with Cats at Tail Town Cats, led by electroacoustic artist Melanie Cebula, will help guests feel the power of meow… er, now. The March 7 sound bath is open to participants who are 12 and older and tickets are $20 each.
