SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A shooting in Sacramento led to the closure of two major highways on Wednesday morning.

According to the NBC affiliate station, KCRA, a large police presence was reported at the Smyth Academy of Arts and Sciences Middle School after two people in a sedan were shot along Highway 160. The driver managed to drive to safety and called 911 from outside the school.

Just after 10 a.m., police shut down southbound Interstate 5 near Richards Boulevard for about half an hour. Officers were seen walking the freeway, looking for evidence.
