FRESNO, Calif. (FOX26) — A dirt bike rider has been hospitalized after colliding with a pickup truck Wednesday night in central Fresno.

The crash happened around 6:30 p.m. at the intersection of Fresno Street and Cambridge Avenue.

Police say the collision involved a small gas-powered dirt motorcycle that did not have lights and a pickup truck.

Investigators believe the dirt bike was traveling southbound along the west curb of Fresno Street while the truck was heading northbound.

The truck was making a left turn at the intersection when the two vehicles collided.

The dirt bike rider was transported by ambulance to a local hospital and is listed in serious condition.

Authorities are still working to identify the rider.

The driver of the pickup truck was not reported injured.

Officers are evaluating the driver as part of standard procedure following a traffic collision.

At this time, there is no indication that either driver was impaired.
