Two people were sent to the hospital in “critical” condition Wednesday evening after a suspected stabbing by Dolores Park, fire officials said.
At 4:48 p.m., the San Francisco Fire Department personnel “received a call for an assault” and possible stabbing at Dolores Park and sent a fire engine, a rescue captain, and two paramedic units, department spokesperson Samuel Menchaca said.
The fire department personnel had to wait until police officers could clear the scene, Menchaca said. Fire personnel then “assessed two patients,” who had “critical, possible puncture wounds” in initial dispatches, Menchaca said.
The two victims were taken to the hospital. Menchaca did not know the current condition of either patient. He could not say if the stabbing occurred within the park or nearby.
The San Francisco Police Department did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
