Go Metro Forecast
Get ready for a breezy and warm weekend across the Southland. A Santa Ana wind event is developing, bringing dry, gusty conditions starting Friday and lasting through the weekend. Winds could gust up to 30 mph or more, especially in the passes and canyons typically affected by Santa Ana winds. The Los Angeles Basin and San Gabriel Valley should see lighter winds, but you’ll still notice the warm, dry air.
Temperatures will climb through the weekend. Saturday brings highs in the mid to upper 70s for most coastal and valley areas, with a few spots possibly touching 80 degrees. Sunday turns up the heat even more — most areas will see highs in the 80s, and parts of Los Angeles and Ventura counties could flirt with the lower 90s.
Sunday is also LA Marathon Day. Runners should expect warm temperatures and some wind in the morning hours, though conditions are expected to gradually improve as the day goes on.
Looking ahead to next week, a cooler pattern returns. Enjoy the warm stretch this weekend — relief is on the way.
