A gambler at Thunder Valley Casino Resort near Sacramento hit a $166,196 jackpot on a $5 slot machine bet Wednesday, casino officials reported.

The player won the jackpot on a “Lightning Link Tiki Fire” slot machine, the casino said in a news release.

“While many people are pushing through the midweek slump, this lucky guest was cashing in,” said Dawn Clayton, general manager at Thunder Valley Casino Resort. “What an incredible win for our guest and a great way to spend a Wednesday.”

Thunder Valley Casino Resort at 1200 Athens Ave. in Lincoln has 3,500 slot machines and 89 table games. It is about 20 miles northeast of Sacramento.
