TROY, Mich. – A 63-year-old man from Missouri is facing OWI charges in Oakland County after reportedly being pulled over for driving with several flat tires.
According to authorities, police were alerted to a Chrysler Town and Country that was driving with multiple flat tires through Troy on Wednesday, Feb. 25 at about 1 p.m.
Police said they saw the vehicle near Big Beaver Road and Kilmer Street, where they initiated a traffic stop.
The driver reportedly appeared disoriented and smelled heavily of alcohol. He was asked to do several sobriety tests, which police said he performed poorly.
A breath test reportedly showed a blood alcohol content of .16%, twice the maximum legal limit in Michigan.
At the police station, tests reportedly showed results of .174% and .182%.
Michigan law considers drivers “super drunk” if they have a BAC of 0.17% or higher. Under Michigan’s Impaired Driving Law, “super drunk” drivers face increased penalties for driving under the influence.
Anthony Donald Badamo was charged with operating while intoxicated, third offense, and driving while license was suspended. His bond was set at $2,000.
