Debbie Allen Dance Academy will host HERstory 2026, an all-ages celebration honoring women’s contributions to art, culture and community, on Sunday, March 8, from 1-6 p.m. at the Rhimes Performing Arts Center, 1850 S. Manhattan Place. Proceeds benefit Debbie Allen Dance Academy’s scholarship and outreach programs.

HERstory brings together artists, entrepreneurs and community leaders for an afternoon of live performances, dynamic panel conversations and interactive experiences. With more than 70% of Debbie Allen Dance Academy students receiving financial assistance, event proceeds directly support scholarships and outreach initiatives that expand access to arts education across Los Angeles.

“HERstory is about honoring the creativity, leadership and impact of women across generations,” said Vivian Williams, executive director of the Debbie Allen Dance Academy. “When women gather to share their stories through art, business and culture, we strengthen our communities and shape the future by creating space for voices to be heard, for young people to see what’s possible and for the next generation to rise with purpose.”

Programming for the event includes “IlluminatHER: Reimagining a Brighter World” with a Q&A session. Moderated by Sol Aponte and Jennia Fredrique Aponte, and featuring artists Peyton Euriah, Maren Jensen and A. Nichel, the discussion will explore how women use creativity as refuge and resistance, transforming lived experience into work that heals, challenges and inspires. “HealHER: Women Leading with Heart & Purpose” is moderated by Gia Peppers and includes panelists, Cami Arboles (MSBC) and Danielle Cooper (Clean Juice), spotlighting purpose-driven entrepreneurship rooted in inclusion, equity and community impact.

The event will also feature performances by DADA Red Birds, DADA Ensemble, Sons of DADA, Grupo Folklórico Revolución and Simone Bonet, with music by DJ Sierra Bonita. Guests can explore creative activations, student showcases and curated vendors throughout the space, along with food and beverage offerings from local partners.

Attendees will also enjoy food and beverages from Hibachi LA, Ceviche Don Daniel, DeeDee’s Cupcakes and Clean Juice. The first 25 guests to arrive will receive product giveaways. General admission is $38.70. For information and tickets, visit herstory26.eventbrite .com.
