Woo, 25, was a second-round pick by the Canucks in 2018. He is currently an alternate captain for the Abbotsford Canucks, and has eight points in 26 games this season. Woo was waived by the Canucks on Dec. 8 as he recovered from off-season surgery for an undisclosed injury.

Woo has never played an NHL game and helped the Canucks win the Calder Cup as the AHL’s Champions last season.

Thompson, 23, was acquired from the Tampa Bay Lightning two seasons ago, when Anthony Duclair went the other way.

After playing 31 games for the San Jose Sharks last season, Thompson failed to make the team out of training camp this season. In total, Thompson has played 33 games for the Sharks, scoring four goals and six assists. In the AHL this season, Thompson has three goals and nine assists for the San Jose Barracuda.

The NHL Trade Deadline is less than 24 hours away, and the San Jose Sharks could be a busy team with seven pending UFAs on their NHL roster.
