A seasonal air route between Sacramento and a large East Coast city will not return this summer, a national airline said Wednesday.

JetBlue is cancelling Sacramento International Airport’s only nonstop flight to Boston Logan International Airport, a route that was scheduled to run from June through September.

In a statement, the airline said the route “has not met our performance expectations” and it chose to not resume operating the flight in summer 2026. According to aviation blog AeroRoutes, the affected route was a nonstop service between Boston and Sacramento running daily between June 11 and Sept. 8 of this year.

“At JetBlue, we are constantly evaluating our network to best ensure it aligns with customer demand and supports our long-term success,” the statement said.

JetBlue will still fly between Sacramento and the East Coast through the John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City on a seasonal basis. According to the company’s statement, passengers booked on the affected route can either be rebooked via the New York City service or receive a full refund.

Lindsay Myers, a representative for the Sacramento International Airport, said in an emailed statement the airport is “constantly working with our airline partners to provide passengers with as many options as possible.”
