COLLEGE STATION — Texas A&M baseball‘s weekend schedule was adjusted Thursday, before the opening pitch of the final nonconference series of 2026.

The Aggies (11-1) were scheduled to host Oakland at 6 p.m. Friday, but due to expected inclement weather, A&M is rescheduling the first two games as a doubleheader.

The first game against the Golden Grizzlies (1-11) will now start at 2 p.m. Friday, according to an A&M release. Saturday’s nightcap will be at 6 p.m. or 45 minutes after Game 1 finishes. The originally scheduled series finale, slated for Sunday, will now be played at 2 p.m. Saturday.

“Following game one, Blue Bell Park will be cleared, and gates will reopen prior to the first pitch of the second game,” the school said in its release.

With rain in the forecast expected to intensify throughout the weekend, the Aggies will try to avoid the bulk of the storm. According to the National Weather Service, Saturday’s weather is expected to include showers and thunderstorms, mainly in the afternoon, with winds at 10 mph. The chance of precipitation is 90%.

A&M comes into the weekend second in the SEC in slugging percentage (.599), third in batting average (.340) and fourth in home runs (23).

Oakland has had a tough start to the season, but the schedule has played a significant role. The Golden Grizzlies faced SEC opponents in five of their first 12 games and wrap up their nonconference schedule in College Station.
