“Bakersfield Mist” will continue its successful run at the Pagosa Springs Center for the Arts with performances Saturday, March 7, at 7 p.m. and Sunday, March 8, at 3 p.m., with the production running through March 14.

The intimate two-person play has been warmly received by audiences throughout its run, with patrons praising the performances as “funny, moving and incredibly real.”

Many theatergoers have noted how the story sparks conversation long after the performance ends, making it one of the season’s most talked-about productions.

Inspired by a true story and written by Stephen Sachs, “Bakersfield Mist” follows Maude, an unemployed bartender who believes she may have purchased a priceless Jackson Pollock painting at a thrift store. When an art expert arrives to evaluate the work, their meeting becomes a lively and emotional debate about art, class and the nature of value itself.

Presented in the intimate setting of the Pagosa Springs Center for the Arts, the production highlights strong performances and sharp dialogue that balance humor with heartfelt moments, allowing audiences to experience the story up close.

All performances take place at the Pagosa Springs Center for the Arts. Tickets are available at pagosacenter.org or by calling (970) 731-SHOW (7469).
