FRESNO, Calif. – New Mexico Volleyball rallied from down big early in the third set to keep things interesting but ultimately fell in straight sets (22-25, 17-25, 18-25) in its Mountain West matchup with Fresno State Thursday night at the Save Mart Center.
The Lobos (9-11, 1-8 MW) continue their conference road swing at San Jose State (9-10, 4-4 MW) on Saturday.
Addison France notched double-digit kills for the 12th match this season with a team-high 11 on .435 hitting, with Lauryn Payne adding eight kills and Seenane Brewer contributing six more. Reagan Miller came up with a career-high four solo blocks and two block assists while putting away three kills, with five other Lobos adding one apiece.
UNM outblocked the Bulldogs 8-4 thanks largely to Reagan’s big night at the net – it’s the third time in the last two weeks that she’s set a new career-high in either total blocks, block assists or solo blocks.
Camila Canedo paced the back row with 12 digs, while Madeleine Miller dished out 25 of UNM’s 31 team assists and picked up five digs of her own.
UNM hit .245 on the match but allowed the Bulldogs to hit at a .305 clip, serving up four aces – two from Brewer, one from Canedo and another from Madison Blanco – but getting aced 10 times.
