LONG BEACH, Calif. — The University of Hawai’i women’s basketball team takes a season-high seven-game winning streak into its regular-season finale at Long Beach State on Saturday, March 7 at the LBS Financial Credit Union Pyramid in Long Beach, Calif. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m. Pacific Time (noon Hawai’i Time).
The Rainbow Wahine extended their current streak — the longest active run in the Big West — with an 89-56 rout at UC Riverside on Thursday to open their final road trip of the season. The ‘Bows have won 13 of their last 14 games to rise to fourth place in the conference standings.
After the closing out the regular season, the ‘Bows will head to Las Vegas in advance of the Credit Union 1 Big West Basketball Championship set for March 11-14 in Henderson, Nev.

‘BOWS NOTES
UH’s enters the regular-season finale riding its longest winning streak of the season. The ‘Bows are in the midst of a remarkable turnaround in going 13-1 following a 6-9 start to the season overall and 0-5 in Big West play.
UH has a 14.6-point scoring margin over the last 14 games, holding opponents to 51.5 points per game and 33% shooting from the field over that span.
The Rainbow Wahine passed the program’s single-season record for blocked shots during last week’s homestand. The ‘Bows broke the previous record of 163 set in 2002-03 season and raised their season total to 176 with nine more block on Thursday at UC Riverside.
UH leads the Big West and ranks sixth in the nation with 6.1 blocks per game. UH’s rate of blocked shots remains ahead of the program record of 5.6 set in the 2004-05 season.
Freshman guard Bailey Flavell continues to lead UH with 12.9 points per game and is on track to become the first freshman to lead the team in scoring since the 2010-11 season.
Saniyah Neverson has surged late in her senior season, averaging a team-best 14.7 points and 6.6 rebounds during UH’s seven-game winning streak. She is shooting 61.3% from the field, and is 8-for-13 from 3-point range over that span.
Senior forward Imani Perez continues to anchor the UH defense and ranks first in the Big West and 41st nationally with 1.64 blocked shots per game. On the offensive end, Perez is shooting high percentages in all three categories, 49% from the field, 45.8% from 3-point range, and 85.1% from the free-throw line.
UH leads the Big West and moved up to ninth nationally in field-goal percentage defense in holding opponents to 35.2% shooting this season.
UH has held its last 15 opponents under 60 points and leads the Big West and ranks 27th in the nation in scoring defense at 57.3 points allowed per game. During their seven-game winning streak, the ‘Bows are limiting opponents to 52.1 points per game on 31.6% shooting.
This season marks UH’s farewell campaign in the Big West before joining the Mountain West starting with the 2026-27 season.

The Rainbow Wahine and Beach meet for the 53rd time in a series that began on Jan. 31, 1986, a 91-59 Long Beach State win in Honolulu.
The teams split last year’s series with both teams winning on the road.
UH won this season’s first meeting 67-44 in Jan. 31. Imani Perez led UH with 15 points and Ritorya Tamilo posted a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
The Beach holds a 12-11 lead in games played in Long Beach. UH has won in its last two visits to the Pyramid.
UH has won five of the last six meetings since LBSU swept the regular-season series in 2023.
UH is 21-8 against the Beach under head coach Laura Beeman.
LBSU coach Amy Wright is in her third season leading the Beach and has a record of 36-56.
The Beach opened the week with a 59-56 loss at UC Davis on Thursday. JaQuoia Jones-Brown led the Beach with 23 points.
Jones-Brown is the reigning Big West Player of the Week and leads the Beach and ranks third in the Big West with 18 points per game. The sophomore also leads LBSU with 6.9 rebounds per game.
Jones-Brown ranks sixth in the nation with 37.26 minutes per game.
