SAN JOSE, Calif. – The San José State softball team (5-14, 0-0 MW) will close out non-conference play by hosting the Silicon Valley Classic II, facing Santa Clara (9-12, 0-0 WCC) and Saint Mary’s (13-7, 0-0 WCC). The SVC will take place on Saturday, March 7, to Sunday, March 8, at the Spartan Softball Complex.
The Spartans will play a doubleheader against Santa Clara on Saturday and a doubleheader on Sunday against Saint Mary’s. The first game is scheduled for 10 a.m. and the second is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. on both days.
All four games can be watched on Mountain West Network. Sunday’s 10 a.m. game will be featured on NBC Sports California.
SJSU holds a 76-33 record over Santa Clara, last season the two met twice and went 1-1. The Spartans last defeated the Broncos on March 8, 2025. The last time the two met was on April 23, 2025, in a 3-2 Bronco victory.
The Spartans hold a 43-16 record over Saint Mary’s. The last time the two met was on April 17, 2024, in a 5-4 Spartan victory.
Reina Zermeno is currently tied for first in the MW for triples with two.
Ahmiya Noriega was named to the All-Mountain West Preseason Team after leading the nation in triples last season with 10 while slashing a .352 avg, 26 RBIs, eight doubles and two home runs.
This season, Noriega currently holds a .462 On-Base percentage, which puts her at ninth in the MW.
