CHP East Sacramento says roads will be closed and traffic will be turned around until further notice.

RANCHO CORDOVA, Calif. — A collision in Rancho Cordova has caused power lines to fall in the road, causing a small outage. 

The collision occurred on Grant Line between Keifer and Chrysanthy. A Toyota traveling northbound left the road and drove into a power pole for an unknown reason. The power pole fell, blocking Grant Line Rd northbound traffic. The pole clipped the left tire of a BMW driving southbound.

Neither driver tested positive for a DUI, and only the Toyota driver was injured, according to California Highway Patrol East Sacramento. 

The collision caused a small power outage in the area. According to SMUD, the power outage is affecting about 10 people in the area. According to SMUD, crews are currently working to get the power up and running again. 

The power is expected to restore around 2:50 a.m. 

Roads are currently closed and traffic is being turned around from Chrysanthy Blvd to Kiefer Blvd on Grant Line road. It’s unclear when it will be opened up again.
