LONG BEACH, CA – Morgan Graham was the highlight of day one at the Long Beach Opener for the Maryland track and field team as the Terps officially opened the outdoor season. She recorded the fourth best all-time mark in the hammer throw in program history improving her prior personal-best by almost five meters.
Graham recorded a distance of 62.27 meters in the event to finish in second place overall. The junior previously held the seventh best mark in program history with her throw of 57.55 meters last year at the Kehoe Twilight Meet.

In the javelin throw Evelyn VanZwieten finished in sixth place with a toss of 40.77 meters.

Andrew Harmon reached a distance of 60.55 meters in the hammer throw to finish ninth overall in the event.
The Maryland Terrapins will return to action tomorrow in day two of the Long Beach Opener at the Jack Rose Track starting at 1:00 p.m.
