LONG BEACH, Calif. (UNLVRebels.com) – UNLV track & field had a good showing on day two of the Beach Opener at Jack Rose Track on Saturday. The Rebels’ Roxene Simpson took second in the discus throw, while fellow discus teammate Sophia Clark placed ninth overall.
Simpson participated in Flight Three where she threw a mark of 48.94m (160′ 6″), while Clark posted a personal best throw of 41.19m (141′ 8″) in Flight Two, finishing in second place in that flight.
UP NEXT: UNLV hits the road with a trip to the two-day Ben Brown Invite (March 12-13) in Fullerton, California, while Krishna Jayasankar will compete in the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships in the shot put on Saturday, March 14 at 12:45 p.m. PT.
