LONG BEACH, Calif. – After opening the spring season over Valentine’s Day weekend in Kaua’i, Long Beach State Men’s Golf is back in action at the R.E. Lamkin Invitational, co-hosted by San Diego State and San Diego at the San Diego Country Club.
The tournament will take place over two days, beginning on March 9 with two rounds before a final round on Tuesday, March 10. The field will include 16 teams, including eight in the Top 100 and four in the Top 50, including No. 38 Long Beach State. Co-hosts San Diego State are the top ranked team in the field at No. 28.
Alejandro de Castro Piera will lead off the lineup for the Beach. The top ranked of four players for the Beach in the Top 250 of the individual rankings, de Castro is coming off of a Top 10 finish at the John A. Burns Intercollegiate to begin the Spring.
2025 Big West Individual Medalist Krishnav Chopraa and senior Jack Cantlay tied for 14th in Kaua’i, and will play in that order in San Diego. Senior Jaden Huggins will play fourth, with a pair of Top 5 finishes in 2025-26 while Steen Zeman will round out the lineup. Zeman’s top finish came in the fall where he was the runner-up at the Mark Simpson Colorado Invitational.
