Cal Wins All Races By Significant Margins

REDWOOD CITY – The California men’s rowing team rolled out its entire fleet of shells for the first time this season Saturday and breezed past the competition at its home opener at the Redwood Shores Invitational.

The Golden Bears’ varsity eight easily outdistanced Oregon State, completing the race in 5:33.5 to the Beavers’ 5:59.7. Later, Cal’s top boat beat UC San Diego, finishing in 5:26.4 to the Tritons’ 5:57.5.

The Bears’ second varsity won both of its races against the Beavers and Tritons by over 30 seconds.

Cal closes out the Redwood Shores Invitational on Sunday, beginning at 9 a.m.
