LONG BEACH, Calif. – The UAB beach volleyball team earned a dominant 4-1 victory Saturday afternoon against Cal State Bakersfield (3-8) on the final day of the LBSU Invite. The Blazers closed out a challenging weekend with a record of 1-3 against some of the top competition in the country.
On Friday, UAB dropped two matches- a 4-1 decision to host No. 11 Long Beach State (7-3), and a 3-2 loss to Santa Clara (8-4). Saturday began in similar fashion as the Blazers were swept 5-0 by 2025 national runner-up, No. 9 LMU (9-4). UAB bounced back in the final match of the day against the Roadrunners with wins on Courts 1, 2, 4 and 5.
Jasmine Haas and Olivia Stant continued their climb up the UAB record book, moving into a tie for first place for most career wins as a duo in program history with 35. Stant also moved into sole possession of second place for most career individual wins on Court 1, only trailing her partner Haas.
The victory also gave head coach Delaney Rose her 47th career win at UAB, tying the the program record for most career victories.
UAB returns to action next Friday when it travels to DeLand, Florida, to compete in the Stetson Invitational.
