The Nevada women’s basketball team’s run at the Mountain West tournament ended in the first round after falling to Fresno State, 74-57, in Las Vegas on Saturday.
The Bulldogs opened the game on an 8-0 run and took a 15-1 lead after making five of their first six shots from the floor. Nevada pulled within single digits a little later following a layup from Maia Rosarion, trailing 18-10. Fresno State led 21-10 at the end of the first quarter and took a 40-22 lead at halftime. The Bulldogs shot 13-of-31 from the floor in the first half and scored 18 points off of 12 Wolf Pack turnovers.
The Wolf Pack went on a 13-0 run early in the third quarter to cut the deficit to five, trailing 42-37 at the 5:34 mark. The Bulldogs answered with a pair of 3-pointers from Morelia Chavez to retake a double digit lead. Despite Nevada outscoring Fresno State 25-18 in the third quarter, the Bulldogs led wire-to-wire on Saturday en route to the win.
MW Freshman of the Year, Skylar Durley, led all scorers with 19 points.
Nevada falls in the MW tournament first round for the second straight season and finishes the 2025-26 campaign 10-21 overall (6-14 MW). It’s the third 20-loss season for the Wolf Pack in the last four years.
