The high school baseball season is in full swing. No pun intended.
Many teams are playing tournaments and will soon compete in Easter tournaments next month.
Before those tournaments, The Bee will reveal the Top 25 teams, but for now, here are some players many should keep an eye on.
Of course, if we overlooked a player, let agalaviz@fresnobee.com know.
Top players to watch
Jaxon Climer, Buchanan: One of the Bears’ top weapons. The Cal Poly commit can get it done. Can play good defense, too.
Brenden Cumiford, Clovis North: If the Broncos look to contend in the Tri-River Athletic Conference, look no further than Cumiford’s arm. Clovis North will need him to be dominant.
Austin Finegan, Buchanan: The Cal commit gives the Bears one of the top weapons. He was named The Bee Large School Player of the Year last season.
Jensen Hirschkorn, Kingsburg: One of the fieriest players in the area. At 6-foot-7, he is an imposing figure. MLB rates him as a 2026 draft hopeful, ranking him 30th.
Adam Plascencia, Buchanan: Obviously, the Bears return many starters, which is why he needs to be mentioned for his standout plays.
Davis Wilson, Clovis North: One of the top high school pitchers in California and a player to watch in the 2027 MLB draft. Like Cumiford, he will need to be dominant in the TRAC.
