From San Jose to San Francisco, hundreds in the Bay Area were speaking out on the conflict in the Middle East.

In Los Gatos about, 300 people praised President Donald Trump for ordering the military strike that killed the country’s Supreme Leader, ending decades of oppression.

“We can finally celebrate peace in the Middle East. A good Iran will make a good Middle East, a good Middle East will make a better world,” Shirin Parsa with North Cal for Iranian said.

Demonstrators also paid tribute to American soldiers killed in Iran.

“We are proud of the soldiers who fought for America and Iran and we are honoring them,” Sr. Pastor at the Iranian Christian Church Kamil Navai said.

At rallies in downtown San Jose, some praised  President Trump’s military operations  in Iran while others condemned the killing of civilians.

“We’re saying no more to endless wars in the Middle East at the expense of our people and our tax dollars and our ability to live in the United States,” Sabrina Sail, with Party for Socialism and Liberation, said.

This comes as gas prices have been skyrocketing in the past week by 30 to 40 cents due to the conflict, sending drivers on a hunt for better deals.

Drivers waited and waited Saturday to pump gas at Mos gas station in San Jose, which is known for lower prices.

Thalia Lebus drove all the way from Morgan Hill to San Jose just to fuel up.

“I was in Morgan Hill and at the Shell station it was $5.60 a gallon. That’s just too high,” she said.

She said her trek paid off as she just paid $4.38 a gallon.

The conflict is not only affecting drivers in the Bay Area; but travelers as well, as the cost of a plane ticket is expected to go up, too, as the Iran war drives up oil prices.
