The Los Angeles Angels and new manager Kurt Suzuki will have an almost entirely new coaching staff in 2026.
General manager Perry Minasian has been making calls on Thursday to members of the Angels coaching staff, telling them they won’t be brought back in their current roles, multiple team sources told The Athletic. Their contracts expire at the end of October.

The departures include hitting coach Johnny Washington and pitching coach Barry Enright, among others. It is unclear if any coach is being welcomed back. It’s possible some of the staff comes back in player development roles.
With Suzuki’s one-year contract, it could be more of a challenge to put together a coaching staff, given the potential instability — particularly with a lockout looming next winter. When asked about the coaching staff during Suzuki’s introductory news conference on Wednesday, both the new skipper and the GM said they’d only just begun those discussions.
