Allegra Imazio Jones

OBITUARY

Allegra passed away on January 23, 2026 with her family at her side after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Watsonville to parents Rosemarie Imazio and Warren Jones. She attended Moreland Notre Dame School and graduated from Watsonville High School, Class of 2004. Allegra played girls softball in her youth and into high school, but eventually found her passion in water sports–swimming and water polo. She attended Cabrillo College and went on to earn her bachelor’s degree in English at San Jose State in 2009.

In subsequent years she worked in various occupations, including as a nanny, a swim instructor and coach, and in retail and sales. She married her high school sweetheart, Louis Hiura, in 2018, and they welcomed their son Elliott in 2023. Her most rewarding occupation was as a mother and homemaker.

Allegra loved the ocean, and sought to get to the beach whenever she could. She loved Lake Tahoe, where she spent every summer vacationing with family as a child. She loved Hawaii, those beautiful islands set in the vast Pacific Ocean.

Allegra was preceded in death by her Nonni, Bruno and Lucinda Imazio; by her father Warren Jones; and by her grandmother, Virginia Schmidt. She leaves behind her mother, Rosemarie; her sister, Alessandra (Rayce); her brother, Christian; her devoted husband Louis, and their beloved son Elliott. She also leaves behind her Zia and Uncle, Noris and Doug Anderson, her aunt Evelyn Combs, and many dear cousins and friends.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated for Allegra on Friday, March 27, 2026 at 11:00am at Our Lady Help of Christians Church, 2401East Lake Ave., Watsonville. Burial will be immediately following at Valley Public Cemetery.

A Celebration of Life will be held in San Jose at a later date.
