Northern California forecast: Above-average temperatures expected Monday
RISKS. BOY OH BOY. AND WE’RE GOING TO WARM UP QUICKLY HERE IN THE NEXT COUPLE DAYS. IN FACT, METEOROLOGIST OPHELIA YOUNG DUG INTO THE NUMBERS YESTERDAY AND I BELIEVE SHE SAID SO FAR WE’RE ON TRACK FOR THE 11TH WARMEST MARCH FOR OUR TIME. AND WE’LL TAKE A LOOK AT MARCH AND THE TEMPERATURES THAT WE’VE ALREADY SEEN. AND IT’S GOING TO CONTINUE TO WARM UP. HERE’S A LOOK AT THE CURRENT TEMPERATURES RIGHT NOW. THIS IS A LIVE LOOK AT THE WEBBERS POINT AREA IN STOCKTON FROM OUR WILL HERYFORD SKYCAM AND STOCKTON, CURRENTLY AT 49 DEGREES 49, IN SACRAMENTO, 49 IN MODESTO AND 26 IN SOUTH LAKE TAHOE. SKIES ARE CLEAR FROM TRUCKEE ALL THE WAY DOWN THROUGH THE VALLEY AND OFF TO THE COAST. A LITTLE BIT OF FOG DEVELOPING RIGHT ALONG SAN FRANCISCO DOWN THROUGH SAN JOSE. SO IF YOU’RE HEADING THAT WAY, YOU MIGHT RUN INTO SOME PATCHY FOG EARLY, BUT THAT WILL CLEAR OUT AND SHOULDN’T BE AN ISSUE FOR YOU. WINDS ARE CALM THROUGH SAN FRANCISCO, THROUGH FAIRFIELD, THROUGH SACRAMENTO, A LITTLE DOWNSLOPE WIND, EAST WIND COMING IN THROUGH AUBURN. TYPICAL THIS TIME OF DAY AS IT COMES DOWN THE NORTH FORK OF THE AMERICAN RIVER CANYON. THERE. NOW HERE’S A LOOK AT THE TEMPERATURES SO FAR THIS MONTH. EVERY SINGLE DAY HAS BEEN ABOVE AVERAGE. NOW, IF YOU TAKE ALL OF THOSE NUMBERS AND AVERAGE THEM OUT, WE’RE AT 70.3. THE NORMAL AVERAGE WOULD BE 64.8. AND WE CONTINUE TO RUN ABOVE AVERAGE. AND THAT IS GOING TO BE THE CASE ALL THE WAY THROUGH THE REST OF THIS WORKWEEK. YOU CAN SEE THERE’S A LITTLE LOW RIGHT NOW GOING OFF THROUGH THE BAJA PENINSULA. AND AS THAT PASSES THROUGH IN THROUGH TOMORROW, THAT’S GOING TO DRAG A LITTLE COOLER AIR DOWN. SO WE’LL DROP OFF A COUPLE DEGREES. BUT THEN FROM THAT POINT FORWARD HIGH PRESSURE MOVES IN AND WE’LL CONTINUE TO WARM UP RIGHT ON INTO THE WEEKEND. WE’LL GET TO THAT SEVEN DAY IN A MOMENT. YOU WANT TO SEE IT. DON’T DON’T LEAVE THE TV JUST YET. 59 IN TRUCKEE, 54 IN SOUTH LAKE TAHOE. 65 IN ARNOLD. AS WE MAKE OUR WAY INTO THE FOOTHILL LOCATIONS. PLACERVILLE 70, LOW 47, JACKSON 71 AND WE’LL HEAD OFF TO THE COAST AGAIN, STARTING OFF WITH SOME FOG FROM NAPA DOWN THROUGH SAN FRANCISCO AND SAN JOSE, WHERE WE’RE LOOKING AT A HIGH OF 74, LOW OF 44, AND INTO THE SAN JOAQUIN VALLEY. SUNNY SKIES TODAY WITH A HIGH OF 76. IN MANTECA, 75 IN STOCKTON, 75 IN LODI. LOWS IN THE UPPER 40S AND INTO SACRAMENTO. TODAY, A HIGH OF 7675 FOR ELK GROVE AND 76 FOR FOLSOM. NOW HERE’S THAT SEVEN DAY FORECAST FOR THE FOOTHILL. WE’RE LOOKING AT A HIGH OF 70 TODAY 67. YOU CAN SEE THAT LITTLE BIT OF A DROP OFF, SOME CLOUDS MOVING THROUGH THE AREA FROM THE FOOTHILLS INTO THE SIERRA. AND THEN WE CONTINUE THE TEMPERATURE CLIMB INTO THE WEEKEND. AND BY SATURDAY WE’RE INTO THE 80S. 76 TODAY CALM AND AGAIN, WE’LL SEE SOME CLOUDS COMING ACROSS THE AREA TOMORROW. AND THEN THAT HIGH PRESSURE MOVES IN. AND THAT’S WHEN THE WARM UP CONTINUES. IT’S INTERESTING. A LOT OF PEOPLE FROM ACROSS THE COUNTRY WHO ARE ON SPRING BREAK AND STARTING TO COME TO NORTHERN CALIFORNIA TO ENJOY SOME OF THAT SNOW IN THE MOUNTAINS. YEAH, WE’RE HEADING DOWN TO VEGAS THIS WEEKEND FOR VOLLEYBALL. NINETY’S DOWN THERE. NINETY’S REA
