Police say a Florida woman armed with an AR-15-style rifle allegedly fired as many as nine rounds at the singer’s Los Angeles home; as social media appears to show the suspect taunting Rihanna weeks before the shooting
A woman armed with an AR-15-style rifle allegedly fired multiple rounds at the Los Angeles home of Grammy Award-winning singer Rihanna on Sunday afternoon while she was home with her children. LAPD responded to the scene around 1:21 p.m. and the singer’s partner A$AP Rocky was reportedly not present at the time.
The suspect, identified by police as 35-year-old Ivanna Lisette Ortiz, was later arrested and booked on suspicion of attempted murder after bullets (the suspect allegedly fired between seven and nine rounds) struck the front gate and exterior of the Beverly Crest property. Ortiz was said to have fired from a vehicle and fled the scene shortly after. Police believe she is originally from Florida.
According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office, bail has been set at $10.225 million. Inmate records also state Ortiz was arrested at 2:20 p.m. Sunday and was booked at 2:06 a.m. on Monday. She was reportedly taken into custody without incident and officers recovered a weapon believed to have been used in the shooting. The case is now being handled by the department’s Robbery-Homicide Division. Los Angeles reached out to the District Attorney’s office, which noted that the LAPD had not submitted the case for filing consideration yet.

Rihanna, a Barbados-born global artist and billionaire entrepreneur, lives at the roughly $14 million residence with her partner, rapper A$AP Rocky, and their three children.
Oddly enough, Ortiz’ social media shows a February 23 post where she appears to taunt the “Umbrella” singer & Fenty mogul. “@badgirlriri Are you there? Cause I was waiting for your AIDS 5-head self to say something to me directly instead of sneaking around like you talking to me where I’m not at.”
Other social media photos show Ortiz posing with “pageant trophies,” where she notes that she was “Miss Teen Illinois Latina Princess 2006.”

Another post appears to depict hip-hop mogul Drake reacting to what Ortiz strangely claims is “Rihanna having AIDS.” She also has a YouTube Channel, where it’s heavily focused on prayer and Christianity.
Police have not publicly identified a motive, and have not responded to Los Angeles request for a statement.
