A driver was being sought following a hit-and-run crash in Buena Park that left a pedestrian dead Monday morning, March 9, authorities said.
The crash occurred at Beach and Artesia boulevards just before 1:55 a.m. and officers arrived to find the pedestrian down, police said.
The pedestrian was taken to UCI Medical Center, but died shortly after arrival, police said. Further information about the victim was not yet disclosed.
Officers learned the pedestrian was hit by a white Kia sedan and found it unoccupied with damage “consistent with a collision” on Valley View Street near Chapman Avenue in Garden Grove, police said. The driver had fled.
The location of the car was about seven miles south of where the crash happened.
