BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — A person allegedly stole a John Deere front loader and hit an apartment building on Hughes Lane, injuring a woman inside.
The California Highway Patrol said on Sunday, March 7, 2026, at around 7:37 a.m., officers were called to a crash involving a John Deere front loader hitting a building in the area of Hughes Lane and Terrace Way.
CHP said a preliminary investigation found that an unknown person stole a John Deere front loader and drive to the area of 500 Hughes Lane.
While at the apartment complex, the unknown male drove the front loader into the apartment complex.

There was a person inside the apartment who sustained an injury to her leg. She was taken to Kern Medical.
CHP said investigators on scene determined this to be an intentional act through witness statements and those involved.

No arrests have been made.
