With spring approaching, Long Beach will celebrate the longer days and warmer weather with a community event this month.
The Department of Parks, Recreation and Marine, in partnership with the Long Beach Public Library, will host Spring Fest, a free community event featuring a variety of vernal activities for people of all ages.
The family-friendly event will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 28 at Lincoln Park, 101 Pacific Ave.
“Our Spring Fest is a great opportunity to hop into spring and enjoy everything the season has to offer,” Mayor Rex Richardson said in a statement. “Events like this reflect our ongoing commitment to providing accessible, family-friendly events for our community to come together, build lasting memories and enjoy a day at one of our beautiful Long Beach parks.”
This year’s Spring Fest activities will include two age-designated egg hunts; ages 3 to 6 will be at 11:30 a.m. and ages 7 to 12 will be at 12:30 p.m. Participation in the egg hunts is available on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last, officials said.
There will also be a bunny trail for children ages 2 and under, and visits from the Easter Bunny, with photo opportunities at rotating times throughout the event. Youth can also create flower planter souvenirs and springtime-themed pipe cleaner mementos to take home, according to a press release.
Additional activities will include a cupcake walk at 1:30 p.m., arts and crafts, face painting, group games and more.
Attendees will also be able to enter free raffles for the chance to win prizes. Light refreshments will be available, while supplies last, according to a press release.
To participate in activities, attendees must check in to receive a bracelet, officials said.
Complimentary parking will be available throughout the duration of the event in the Civic Center parking garage, 332 W. Broadway, for Spring Fest attendees. For more information about Spring Fest, call 562-570-3524 or visit LBParks.org.
