WILLITS, CA — A Willits man was found guilty Friday of multiple child sexual abuse charges stemming from crimes committed over a three-year period.
According to the Mendocino County District Attorney’s Office, a Mendocino County Superior Court jury convicted Christopher Neil Kiger, 42, of 11 felony counts following a two-week trial.
Kiger is also known as Chris King and Jesse Goff. The jury found Kiger guilty of three counts of lewd and lascivious acts on a child under 14, two counts of penetration with a foreign object involving a child under 14, and six counts of continuous sexual abuse of a child.
Prosecutors said the crimes occurred in and around Willits from 2020 through 2023. The victim was between 10 and 13 years old during the period of abuse.
District Attorney David Eyster, who prosecuted the case, said Kiger acted as a “stepfather figure” to the victim. The victim and her brother testified during the trial.
Judge Keith Faulder scheduled a hearing for March 25 to consider additional evidence before sentencing. Because of the charges, Kiger is not eligible for probation and faces a state prison sentence.
The judge also ordered Kiger held without bail after the verdict was announced.
