EL SEGUNDO, Calif. — Rain is in the forecast for Los Angeles County beginning Monday evening, and officials are taking steps to make sure residents are prepared.

The county’s fire department took to social media Monday morning to provide forecast updates surrounding the intense rain, while also including online resources that can assist in readiness.

“Peak rain intensities today (Monday) 5:00pm to Tuesday 3:00pm. Visit Ready.lacounty.gov/rain to prepare,” the department’s X post read. “Assume that burn areas and canyon, hillside, mountain and other steep areas are more likely to have landslides and mudslides.”
