Los Angeles Fire Department firefighters battled a large blaze at a Hollywood Hills home on Monday evening.
The fire was reported at around 6:10 p.m. at a four-story home in the 8900 block of St. Ives Drive, according to a news release from the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Crews said that the single-family home has three-stories over the garage, and that the flames were located on the roof of the structure.
It took more than 100 firefighters from LAFD, with assistance from the Los Angeles County and Beverly Hills fire departments, to extinguish the fire in just under 45 minutes.
“Fire was contained to the roof of the home, with no surrounding brush or structure involvement,” an update from LAFD said.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation and arson units were contacted to help with the probe.
LAFD aerial units were also requested to stay overhead and monitor any ember casts, the release said.
One Los Angeles County firefighter sustained a burn injury during the incident and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Over the weekend, firefighters battled a different fire at a home in the Hollywood Hills. Wind-driven flames destroyed the property and temporarily threatened other homes in the surrounding area before firefighters were able to get the upper hand.
