A Fresno High School student died Monday afternoon after collapsing during a physical education class.
Fresno Unified School District confirmed the death and said the student passed out during PE.
The student was taken to a hospital, where they were later pronounced dead.
In a news release, the district said the student collapsed during the class but did not provide additional details.
“Our hearts are with the student’s family, friends and the entire school community during this incredibly difficult time,” the district said.
