FRESNO, Calif. (FOX26) — The Fresno City College Rams want to see baseball players leave for a four-year university, ideally a Division I program. It’s a stated goal for head coach Mitch Karraker and staff.
So, replacing around 50% of the roster annually comes with the territory of winning 30+ games four years in a row.
During Karraker’s three-year tenure at City, his Rams have sent somewhere between 26 to 30 players to the next level, which is a big reason why the most talented, under-recruited high school baseball players around the Central Valley fill his roster every year.
The formula worked to perfection in 2026 – almost, quite literally.
Fresno City won its first 16 games, tied for the best start in program history, and carry a 19-1 record entering a three-game series against Taft.
The Rams are ranked No. 1 in the State by the California Community College Baseball Coaches Association, and No. 15 nationally by Perfect Game.
Hear from Karraker and the players about what keeps Fresno City College such a competitive program year in, year out.
