The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in identifying the owner of a photo album filled with black-and-white photographs believed to date back to the 1940s.

The album is currently being held by the sheriff’s office Property & Evidence Unit, which is attempting to locate the rightful owner or relatives who may recognize the images.

Authorities said the album contains numerous historic family photos and said they hope to return to the family they belong to.

Got a Tip?

Anyone who believes the album may belong to them or who recognizes someone in the photographs is asked to contact the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office Property & Evidence Unit at (559) 600-8257.

Officials said having a case number available may help staff cross-reference records, but it is not required.
