SAN FRANCISCO – Teal Matsueda tied for fifth as the Boise State women’s golf team finished eighth at the Juli Inkster Invitational. The Broncos tallied a score of 902 (+38) in the two-day tournament.
Matsueda opened the tournament with a 71 (-1) and 72 (E) in the first two rounds. She carded a 75 (+3) on the final day to solidify her career-best finish. Leia Chung backed her by tying for 17th, the senior’s 17th-career top-25 finish. She fired a 224 (+8), including a 71 (-1) in the second round.
Notables
Teal Matsueda earned the best finish of her career, tying for fifth. This is the second top-10 finish of the season for the junior, who has four-career top-10 finishes and 15-career top-25 finishes.
Matsueda fired a 71 (-1) in the opening round, marking her fourth-straight stroke play tournament with at least one round under par.
Matsueda ranked third in the field with an average of 4.00 strokes on par 4s.
Leia Chung secured the 17th top-25 finish of her career, tied for the eighth-most in school history.
Chung was one-under (71) in the second round, her team-best ninth round under par this season.
Chung tied for the tournament lead with a 2.92 average on par 3s.
The Broncos ranked second in the field with 175 pars. Matsueda tied for second among individuals with 40 and Chung tied for sixth with 38.

“The final round conditions put up a good challenge and unfortunately we didn’t end the way we wanted to. I feel like we come away from this event with a lot of positives and some very specific things we need to address,” said head coach Kailin Downs. “This was a great event for Teal, a top-five finish to boost her confidence.
