San Diego’s dining scene has a new chapter unfolding, and it’s heading north. Queenstown Hospitality Group – the collective behind some of our favorite neighborhood spots – is bringing a brand-new Queenstown location to Del Mar, along with a fresh identity for a group that’s been shaping the way we eat and drink across the county for over two decades.

From Pacific Beach Burgers to a Full Portfoli

Founded by lifelong friends PJ Lamont and Matt Baker, the group got its start with Bare Back Grill in Pacific Beach in 2005 – built around clean, sustainably sourced, grass-fed beef well before that approach became mainstream.

From there came Raglan Public House in Ocean Beach, Dunedin New Zealand Eats in North Park, and Queenstown locations in Little Italy, Westfield UTC, and La Jolla Village.

A New Name, a New Direction

Formerly known as NZ Eats, the group has officially rebranded as Queenstown Hospitality Group – a name that reflects how central the Queenstown brand has become across the portfolio. “We’ve been at this for over 20 years now, and this felt like the right moment to turn the page,” said co-founder PJ Lamont.

What to Expect in Del Mar

Expect New Zealand-influenced comfort food and craft cocktails in a space designed by Michael Soriano of Onairos Design – the creative behind Realm of 52 Remedies, the Pearl Hotel, and Vin de Syrah. Think natural materials, a light-filled glass pavilion with ocean views, indoor-outdoor seating, and an intimate bar.

See you there!
