The 49ers reportedly agreed to a contract with six-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Mike Evans that will see him make up to $60.4 million over three years on Monday’s first day of the NFL’s negotiating window.

Not only were plenty of fans around the Bay Area pumped about the move, but former 49ers defensive back Richard Sherman raved about what Evans brings to the table on a recent episode of “Richard Sherman Podcast.”

“A future Hall of Famer, a guy that can change the complexity of the game in a heartbeat,” Sherman said on Monday. “A guy that you could put a 50-50 ball up to and he makes a play. Runs the entire route tree, a true X receiver, 6’5, 230 (pounds), aggressive, a great blocker, a great teammate. If you think about it on the field he’s going to be a fantastic addition, a safety blanket for Brock Purdy.”

In addition to discussing the makeup of Evans’ game, Sherman highlighted how his on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will change San Francisco’s offense.

“How many more go balls, 50-50 go balls, is Brock Purdy going to put up? I would guess that number is going to double, no question about it,” Sherman said.

Across 11 seasons in Tampa Bay, Evans racked up 866 catches for 13,052 yards and 108 touchdowns.

The biggest question regarding Evans is his health, as he played a career-low eight games this past season with the Buccaneers. If he can stay out of the injury tent and return to the form he has sustained throughout his career, the 49ers could very well have one of the best offenses in the NFL.
