(FOX40.COM) — A 46-year-old man was hospitalized Tuesday night after reporting he had been shot in Sacramento County.
According to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the 7100 block of Watt Avenue near Turner Drive after a man reported he had suffered a single gunshot wound to the chest.
The sheriff’s office said that the man, 46, told deputies he had been shot but refused to provide additional information about what happened.
He was transported to a local hospital and was reported to be in stable condition, SCSO said.
Deputies searched the surrounding area but were unable to locate where the shooting may have occurred. Authorities said deputies are continuing to canvas the area for evidence and possible witnesses.
The investigation remains ongoing.
