The Anaheim Colonists will square off against the Valencia Tigers at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. Anaheim is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they’ve averaged 10.5 runs per game this season.
On Tuesday, Anaheim made easy work of Calvary Chapel and carried off an 18-8 victory. That’s two games straight that the Colonists have won by exactly ten runs.
Chloe Tabita was a major factor no matter where she played. She tossed 2.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Tabita was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Valerie Florido was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mak Acosta, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one double.
Anaheim kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Valencia’s good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They came up short against Katella, falling 14-2.
Elizabeth Nunez was cooking despite her team’s loss, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run and one double.
The win got Anaheim back to even at 3-3. As for Valencia, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.
Valencia’s pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Anaheim has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 11.3 hits per game. It’s a different story for Valencia, though, as they’ve been averaging 8.7 hits. Given Anaheim’s sizable advantage in that area, the Tigers will need to find a way to close that gap.
