The Federal Communications Commission has given its regulatory approval to an agreement announced in November 2025 that will see a quartet of stations owned by Alpha Media and obtained by Connoisseur Media through its debt assumption-fueled merger with the former Portland, Ore.-headquartered radio broadcasting company.

With the Commission’s granting on Tuesday of assignment of authorization submissions placed in the LMS last autumn, Connoisseur is now on track to close on its sale of Class B1 Top 40 KLLY-FM “Live 95.3,” in Oildale; Class B1 Rhythmic Oldies KKBB-FM “Groove 99.3”, and News/Talk KNZR-AM & FM. KNZR-FM is a Class A licensed to nearby Shafter; KNZR-AM is a heritage Class A facility at 1560 kHz with a signal blanketing the region.

The stations serve the Bakersfield market, and the lower San Joaquin Valley of California, and were licensed by “Alpha Media LLC.” Sr. VP/CFO Oliver Price signed off on the sale, which contains an “earn-out agreement” clause and a $30,000 deposit. At closing, a ceremonial $1 payment will be made. This reflects the debt assumption obligations taken by the buyer, and not the valuation of the four radio stations.

Acquiring the properties is Frequency Broadcasting Inc. a local company in the region led by Kait and Danny Hill. Frequency will pair these stations with “Outlaw Country” KVLI-AM 1140 with K240FH in Lake Isabella, to the northeast of Bakersfield; and KRWI-FM and simulcast partner K228GB “Rewind” in the Lake Isabella area.

Serving as Connoisseur Media’s legal counsel is David Oxenford of Wilkinson Barker Knauer. The legal representative for the buyer is Mark Denbo of Smithwick & Belendiuk.
