SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) has announced a statewide Shoulder Tap Decoy Operation that will take place Saturday, March 14. This operation will be conducted alongside local California law enforcement agencies.
The Shoulder Tap Decoy Operation involves minors, under direct supervision of law enforcement, asking adults outside ABC-licensed stores to purchase alcohol for them. ABC aims to reduce youth access to alcohol and send a clear message that adults should not purchase or supply alcohol to persons under the age of 21.
This collaborative effort between ABC and local law enforcement highlights the importance of community responsibility in preventing youth access to alcohol.
